Our Regions
The MGF Register regions are the bedrock of our social activity. They cover most of the country but we still have pockets where there is no MGF Register representation – so if you are interested in setting up your own region then please get in touch!
Please contact Regional Rep Liason Paul van Der Hulks with any questions of if your interested in setting up a region:
repliaison@mgccmgfregister.org
The Regions offer members regular meets at local pubs, breakfast meets, local road runs, attendance at shows, visits to places of interest and more – some even arrange mini-golf, karting and bowling sessions! They are led by whatever the group wants and you may even find yourself arranging a trip or road run.
Here you’ll find details of all our regions and how to get in touch.

The Anglia Region of the MGF Register comprises of Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire, with a long-established monthly Natter Night held in South Norfolk at the Swan Inn, Hilborough, IP26 5BW, which is between the two Norfolk market towns of Swaffham and Thetford.
The Natter nights take place on the 2nd Thursday evening of each month from April and October and the 2nd Saturday morning from November to March, excluding December when we have our annual Christmas meal and awards.
Natter Nights are well attended events, usually with 14-15 cars, and approx. 25 people, gathering from approx. 18:30 onwards for a social evening of good food, good company and great cars. We usually finish around 22:00. There is a monthly “car of the night “award, which is chosen by the staff of the Swan.
There is always a good choice of main courses and desserts, and new members are always made very welcome and made to feel part of the group.
During the winter moths when we meet for breakfast on a Saturday morning, we meet from 09:00 onwards and breakfast is a buffet style, eat as much as you would like!
We are a very active region, having visits, events shows and runs from March through to December, for 2025, to date (May) we have been to North Weald Airfield museum, Essex Air Ambulance, Thelnetham Windmill, RAF Sculthorpe Heritage Centre, and have supported Drive it Day and Pride of Longbridge.
Coming up we have visits to Boxted Airfield museum, Happisburgh Lighthouse, Mid Suffolk Light Railway, Stowmarket Carnival Classic car show, with more in the pipeline and of course MGF30.
We also support the Anglia Centre picnic, annual charity run, Kimbolton show and Riviera Run in December.

The Essex Region is a well-established group meeting twice per month being the 1st Wednesday and the 3rd Wednesday of the month at around 7:00pm. We meet at The Lodge Country Inn, Rettendon, Essex, SS11 7QT, located on the A132 between Wickford and South Woodham Ferrers, which is a well-run venue with plenty of space inside and ample parking with a good and reasonably priced menu. New members and visitors are always welcome. You will find us located on the raised area to the right as you enter the pub, this area is always reserved for our meetings. Please feel welcome to come along and introduce yourself.
Having held our Annual Calendar Meeting in January, once again we have a very busy and varied calendar, supported by a number of group members taking on the organising of various events from Drives, Places of Interest & Car Shows to Weekends away. We attend a number of local events and breakfast meets and also attend a selection of the national events organised by the MG Car Club, MGF Register and various other national events, we also on occasions join other local MGF Register Regions and the MG Car Club Anglia Centre on their events, so there is always plenty going on.

Steve White

Heart of England Region

hofe@mgccmgfregister.org
The Heart of England Region is one of the MGF Registers original regions, and presently covers Warwickshire and the West Midlands.
Typically, our meets are concentrated in the Rugby/Coventry/Leamington area. Currently we have a monthly Sunday breakfast meet, normally on the Second Sunday on the month, but we do like to vary the date & venue sometimes, so please check our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/groups/1805489266367604/ or contact me for latest information.
We are a small, friendly, welcoming group and our cars aren’t always the topic of conversion at our meets, we just like to socialise (and it’s a good excuse not to cook & do the washing up).
I have been the HofE regional rep for quite some time, and have attended many MGCC regional, national and European events with my partner Alison. I also enjoy dropping into local car shows with my TF & ZT.
I’m always open to suggestions for runs and meets so get in touch if you have any ideas.

The Lancashire Region covers an area of over a 1000 square miles, encompassing what was the old mill towns, & also some striking countryside. We don’t currently hold a social meeting but if anyone has any suggestions for meets or runs they would be very welcome.
Speaking for ourselves Barbara & I have travelled extensively throughout Europe attending quite a few MGCC European events, & many more organised by MGCC members in Europe. We have also participated in many national events throughout the UK over the 20 years we have been club members.
At the end of June we are attending Burnley Classic Vehicle Show, at Towneley Park, Burnley.

Glenn Neilson

Scotland Region (MGFun)
Regional Rep:
Lewis Mackland - North

Glenn Neilson - South
scotlandsouth@mgccmgfregister.org
MGFun was a brand-new F and TF group which started in February 2021 by Glenn Neilson and represented the MGF Register in Scotland.
Scotland Region is by far the largest geographical region in the MGF Register and could not be managed by one representative alone, so in the summer of 2023 Scotland was split into two regions, Scotland (South) and Scotland (North) with Lewis Mackland being the new representative for the north.
MGFun is made up of three main activities. Regular summer runs which are advertised as an “event” on our Facebook page. Always popular and an excellent day out driving through the wonderful vistas of Scotland. Run are very popular and are usually attended by around 12 F/TF’s.
Cars and Coffee meetings. We provide the opportunity for our members in MGFun (South) to meet during the full year where we join the Lanarkshire Car Club who organise a Cars and Coffee meet on the last Sunday of every month. MGFun attend for a casual meet up, coffee, cake, chat and the obligatory look under bonnets!
MGFun attend the three best and most important car shows in Scotland. These are Thirlestain Castle (June), Glamis Castle Extravaganza (July) and Scone Palace Show (September). MGFun team up with the MG Car Club Caledonian Centre and display our cars on their show stands. This is a successful combination which has resulted in the stand winning “best show stand” four years in a row, 2022, 2023, 2024 and again in 2025 at the Thirlestane Castle show. Quite an achievement.
All our events are posted in the “events” section of out Facebook Group. Just search MGFun.

Nigel & Jo May

Somerset & Dorset Region
Regional Reps:
Nigel & Jo May
somerset.dorset@mgccmgfregister.org
The Somerset & Dorset Region of the MGF Register covers the counties of Somerset, Dorset and North Somerset, although we have attendees from neighbouring counties who are most welcome.
During the summer months (April to October) we have a monthly pub meet (Natter Night) on the 3rd Wednesday of the month. We do not have a fixed venue but instead move around to various pubs to facilitate the opportunity for members to attend given the sheer size of the region. Details can be found on our Facebook page: search “MG Car Club - MGF Register Somerset and Dorset Region”
Natter Nights meet about 7.00pm with the table booked for 7.30pm. The pubs we visit always have a good choice of food. There is always some good chat and banter. New members will be made most welcome.
During the winter months (November to March) we meet on the 3rd Sunday of the month for a short drive followed by lunch. We usually meet around 11am for a coffee before setting of on the drive. These can be anywhere between 25 and 40 miles, but generally are on B roads and minor roads.
Over the years we have attended various shows and have participated in South Western Centre picnics and runs.
Members receive a newsletter by email roughly quarterly, and a flyer is emailed to members who live within easy travel of the monthly pub meets.
A warm welcome is extended to members to attend our events. We are a small, friendly group, but would welcome more members attending our events.

Mark Galbraith

South Coast Region
Regional Rep:
Mark Galbraith
southcoast@mgccmgfregister.org
The South Coast region covers Sussex, Hampshire, and the Isle Of Wight.
We meet once a month for dinner (April - September) or lunch (October - March) at The Forge in Shedfield near Southampton, where the carvery and sticky toffee puddings are very popular with our attendees. We also hold a Quiz & Chat night on Zoom most months of the year, usually taking a break over the summer months. The dates vary from month to month, so please make contact to check the date of our next gathering
We also from time to time arrange other activities, for example a picnic or two during the summer, and trips to events of interest to our members. Past trips have included a private guided tour of Romsey Abbey, front row seats at a country music show, and front row seats at a carriage driving competition.
Occasionally we even talk about cars !

Tim Morris

South East Region
Regional Rep:
Tim Morris
south.east@mgccmgfregister.org
The South East is one of the original MGF Register regions. It grew from an early group born from the old MG Enthusiasts BBS in 2003 with the first meeting being held at The Grasshopper in Westerham. The group soon joined the MGF Register as its own region along with Essex, Scotland and South Wales, realising the benefits of being part of a much larger organisation.
The Region has always reflected the Centre’s area – so, we cover Surrey, Sussex, Kent and some of London. Meetings, runs and shows have been dotted around the area in the past but today it is mostly concentrated in the North Surrey area with regular monthly pub meets on the third Wednesday at the Rose and Crown on Thorpe Green. These are dine and natter nights and all are welcome, we don’t just talk about the cars as most subjects are on the table and we welcome partners too.
Most of our activities are aligned with the South East Centre and we join them for runs, shows and other events throughout the year. Some of our members also enjoy some competition with them such as Naviscats, Autosolos and autotests. In addition to these we do organise our own thing sometimes such as a Mini Golf Challenge and, in particular, a regular Register attendance at our local motoring venue, Brooklands Museum.
To find out what we are up to please keep an eye on our MGF Register South East Facebook page

Tim & Hazel Rowe

South Midlands Region
Regional Reps:
Tim & Hazel Rowe
south.midlands@mgccmgfregister.org
Our Region is reasonably new to the MGF Register, being re-launched in late 2021 when Tim & Hazel Rowe moved down from Yorkshire to the Midlands and discovered that there wasn’t a group operating in the area.
The Region consists of Northamptonshire, Bedfordshire and Leicestershire but some of our supporters venture in from Buckinghamshire. Wherever you come from, near or far, we will always make you very welcome
Our main meeting is the Natter that is held on the last Tuesday of every month, except December, at the Lamport Swan, situated on the Harborough Road, Northamptonshire, NN6 9EZ. We are usually in an allocated area, but, in good weather venture out into the pub garden. The Natter starts at 7.00pm and usually disperses around 10.00pm. Food is available, but you are quite welcome to just drop in for as long as you are able for a drink and a chat. We are very happy for partners to attend and do not spend all evening discussing cars
In addition to our Natter we also organise breakfast meets at various locations around the area, usually on the second Saturday of the month. The venues are diverse, ranging from garden centres to canal marinas to Silverstone racing circuit.
We are enthusiastic about flying our flag at local car shows in addition to supporting National MGF Register and MG Car Club events. We also organise our own activities, these have included in the past, a tour of Northumberland and we are currently working on a trip to the Malvern Hills and surrounding area.
Everyone that is a member of the MG Car Club residing in our area will receive at least one email a month giving details of events within the region that some, or all of us intend to drop into. If you don’t receive this, drop us an email and we will make sure that you are added to the mailing list.

Thames Valley Region
Regional Rep:

thames.valley@mgccmgfregister.org
The Thames Valley Region covers the counties of Berkshire, Oxfordshire & Buckinghamshire (well the bottom half) We are known as the TV Tribe as we’re a bit like the naughty teenagers of the Register! We do like a bit of banter, ok a lot of banter being honest, good laughs and very social. We meet every first Thursday of the month for our Natter Night at the Mecure Lambert Arms Hotel from 7pm in the Reading Room, or if the sun is out, in the enclosed garden with a good 20 to 25 members attending each month, unless some have snuck off on cruises or the likes. Our Natters are suitable for all including partners to attend too, as they’re not car tyre kicking evenings but a good chance for chatter, telling stories of antics whilst out and about, getting lost or as we call it “going exploring” and our other favorite past-times, moving furniture and eating.
We have a full diary of activities throughout the entire year, we don’t hibernate for the winter but appreciate that some like to tuck their pride and joy up during the Salty Season, so we don’t mind at all what you turn up in, just glad to see faces. The Salty Season sees us move around the region to make it fair for our regions members throughout the winter to various venues on either Saturday or Sunday mornings “researching” who does the best breakfast. A hard job we know but one that must be done…. We also visit indoor venues for instance museums, attractions etc.
Once the Salty Season has passed, we increase our activity to include taking part in road runs, classic car shows, meets and of course still supporting those food outlets too. We have our own annual Tribers on Tour weekend away late July, enjoying again good social time away and exploring the local area to where we stay, and oddly enough this usually includes fun and games on Heritage railways. Steam and Head Gaskets do go together after all!
We all make the most of our MG Car Club memberships by joining in with other F Register Regions events and also other Register and Centre events and gatherings.
Do feel free to come and join us, either at our Natters or any of the events we go to. Full details are on our MGF Register Thames Valley Region Facebook page, of which you’ll notice is called the “MGF-ish” as many of our regions members are lucky enough to own other MG models, or some not at all, and as we say, it doesn’t matter what you use, as we fully go by the moto “The Cars bring us together, but the People cause us to stay”.

Richard Coates

Yorkshire Region
Regional Rep:
Richard Coates
yorkshire@mgccmgfregister.org
The inhabitants of Yorkshire are well known for not holding back when it comes to explaining to ‘outsiders’ about the unique attributes which the region has to offer. In addition to being England’s largest County at over 6,000 square miles with a population of over 4.7 million it can lay claim to being one of the most diverse regions in the U.K. The area boasts not only the picture post card like villages of the Yorkshire Dales, but also some stunning coastlines with Blue Flag beaches, traditional seaside resorts and fishing villages, Historical Cities such as York itself with Roman (and earlier) relics, major ports of international importance based upon the Rivers Tees and Humber, Industrial centres famous for steel making, ship building and the chemical industries, the internationally acclaimed North York Moors, waterfalls, metropolitan cities such as Leeds, Spa Towns such as Harrogate and as many Castles, Cathedrals and Stately Homes as you could wish for! So it is no wonder that we describe our ‘neck of the woods’ as ‘God’s Own County’.
That having been said, the very fact that the Yorkshire region of the MGF Register covers such a large area brings with it the fact that many of our members have considerable distances to travel toparticipate in our events. Our Monthly Natter is (normally) held on the first Monday of the month at The Ashtree Inn, Barkston Ash, near Tadcaster (LS24 9PP) from 7.00 PM in the summer months from April to September for those wanting a meal (or 8.00 PM for the meeting only), but from 12.00 lunchtime during the winter months to allow our members who may have greater distances to travel to avoid the worst of the potential weather conditions.
In addition to the regular Monthly Natters, we host irregular ‘Breakfast Meetings’ at a widespread choice of venues and try to cover as large an area of our region as possible, thus providing an opportunity for as many of our members as possible to join in. This year, for example, we have enjoyed breakfasts at two golf clubs, a farm shop and will be attending a moor top pub, a roadside cafe, a cattlemarket and a motor racing circuit before the year is out!
We also regularly support events run by our local Yorkshire Centre and National events such as MGF30 at Gaydon and MGFest North at Croft.
Additionally, we hold a very popular annual trip to the well renowned Fat Lamb Inn for a three night mid-week break each summer. Although technically not in Yorkshire but just over the border in neighbouring Cumbria, we make an allowance due to the fact that many of the runs we undertake and attractions we visit are within sight of ‘home soil’!
We have an enthusiastic band of regulars who are very willing to give of their time in helping to arrange events, and encouragingly are seeing more and more new members joining in our activities. An active Facebook page helps to promote our activities.
Please contact us if you would like to learn more about what we get up to.
