The MG Car Club is run by members for members and as such there are groups of volunteers who oversee each aspect of it. The main club has a board of directors and executive committee and the Centres, Registers and Branches all have their own committees to run their own particular sections.
The MGF Register has a main committee who organise main events and shows, run the register, sell regalia and so on. They are helped by Regional Representatives who run local groups.
The main committee have voting rights on any issues that arise but Regional Reps are welcome to contribute to committee meetings which are held six times a year.
The Committee has two members who represent the Register at MGCC Council meetings and can vote on behalf of the Register at them. This is usually the Chairman and secretary or vice-chairman.
The MGF Register Committee is made up of members of the MG Car Club. The team are all volunteers giving their invaluable personal time to work together carrying out various tasks to ensure the smooth running of the Register and it's events.
Ian was elected to the role of Chairman in 2023 after being involved with the register for severval years. He recounts how he became a MG owner:
'After a chance visit neigh on 10 years ago to Haynes Museum on motorcycles and seeing the Red MGF there, within two weeks we had one, and since that day have never looked back. Proud owner of a ’78 MG BGT and a 2001 MGF Steptronic, we enjoy organising the varied events for the Register.'
He retains his role as Thames Valley Regional Rep, affectionally known as The Tribe. As part of his work with the register he also manages our attendance at National Events. In addition he is also on the committee of the Abingdon Works Centre as Webmaster & Social Media. He also serves on some sub committees of the MG Car Club.

Sue was elected to the MG Car Club MGF Register Committee in early 2024, taking up the role of Secretary, and although one of the newer committee members, with a career in the City of London behind her, she has proved to be a well organised, proactive addition to the committee. A great minute-taker too!
Having owned nothing but MGFs her entire driving life, Sue is an avid fan of the automatic vehicles, and has been a member of the MGCC since buying her very first car, an MGF Freestyle Steptronic new in 2001. Sue now owns another two Steppys - the squeaky one fondly known as "Mouse".
Sue is active within her local club too (Essex MGF Register) and regularly plans trips away for fellow MGF/TF owners, which have in the past included the NC500 and The Three Wales Way.
